Due to the wooden fire surround having a teak stained finish, we needed to stain block the area with another Zinsser product called Zinsser BIN (which is also available from most decorating merchants).

The difference between the two Zinsser products is the Bulls Eye 1-2-3 is water based and the Zinsser BIN is shellac based, which is great for stain blocking over woodstains & water stains, if you have stain and not sure how to treat the area, please visit www.zinsser.com for additional guidance.

Due to the strength of the mustard colour, we stained blocked the area with Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 (which is available from most decorating merchants) to prevent bleeding of colour coming through the Wallpaper also this product is great for providing an excellent surface to adhere wallpaper to. Also within the photo we have started to work on the fire surround, by first degreasing the areas then flexible filling the gaps with white decorators caulk.
